Shaktikanta Das reappointed as RBI Governor for 3 more years

Oct. 29: Shaktikanta Das on Friday was reappointed as the Governor of Reserve Bank of India for three more years. The appointments committee of the Cabinet reappointed Shaktikanta Das for a period of three years beyond 0 December, 2021 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Shaktikanta Das,  Former Finance Secretary was appointed as the 25th Governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in December 2018 after the resignation of Urjit Patel from that post. Patel had stepped down after a fractious faceoff with the government, underlining the deepening trust deficit between the RBI and the central government.
