1 more Covid +ve patient from Premtola die at SMCH in last 24 hours

Oct. 5: The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 4 October to 5 PM on 5 October) witnessed the death of 01 more Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Tuesday evening. The deceased was identified as:

• Sitangshu Sekhar Nath (90) from Premtola in Silchar was admitted at SMCH on 30 September. The patient, however, breathed his last on 4 October.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 5 October, there were 18 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 03 patients were put under ventilator support, and 05 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 01 Covid positive patient was admitted at SMCH and none of them was discharged.
