Speculations ripe of ex-Punjab CM joining BJP as he meets Home Minister Amit Shah

Sept. 29: The power struggle within the ranks and file of Punjab Congress has become an open secret following the resignation of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, a few days ago. A few days later, Punjab Congress Chief Navojit Singh Sidhu also tendered his resignation. Meanwhile, the war of words between Amarinder Singh and Sidhu has also taken an ugly turn.

It is in this backdrop of the political crisis, the former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh arrived at Home Minister Amit Shah’s residence in Delhi on Wednesday. This comes amid speculations that Amarinder Singh too is planning to quit the Congress and join BJP. After tendering his resignation, Singh said that he felt ‘humiliated.’
