কাছাড়ে কালিকাপ্রসাদের জন্মদিন উপলক্ষে লোকসংহতি দিবস পালিত‘Loko Songhoti Divas’ observed in Cachar to mark birthday of Kalika Prasad
ওয়েটুবরাক, ১১সেপ্টেম্বর: আলোচনাচক্র, লোক সংগীত পরিবেশন, উপত্যকার তিন জেলা সদরে জনসংযোগ বিভাগের স্থায়ী মাইকযোগে সকাল-সন্ধ্যা লোকসংগীত পরিবেশনের মধ্য দিয়ে শনিবার রাজ্য সরকারের পক্ষ থেকে প্রয়াত লোকসংগীত শিল্পী, গবেষক এবং লোকসংগীতের সংগ্রাহক কালিকাপ্রসাদ ভট্টাচার্যের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধাঞ্জলি অর্পণ করা হয়। শিলচরের গান্ধীভবনে এ উপলক্ষে এক সভার আয়োজন করা হয়। কাছাড় জেলা প্রশাসনের উদ্যোগে আয়োজিত এই সভায় বিধায়ক দীপায়ন চক্রবর্তী প্রয়াত শিল্পীর লোকসংগীত সংরক্ষণের উপর জোর দেন। তিনি বলেন, কালিকাপ্রসাদ লোকসংগীত গেয়ে রাজ্যের দুই উপত্যকার মধ্যে সম্প্রীতির সহাবস্থান আরও দৃঢ় করতে চেয়েছিলেন।
ডিডিসি রাজীব রায়ের পৌরোহিত্য অনুষ্ঠিত এই অনুষ্ঠানে অংশ নিয়ে লোকসাহিত্যের বিশিষ্ট গবেষক ডঃ অমলেন্দু ভট্টাচার্য বলেন, রাজ্যের দুই উপত্যকার মধ্যে ভাষাগত ভিন্নতা থাকলেও সংস্কৃতিগত কোনও পার্থক্য নেই। তিনি বলেন, বরাক উপত্যকার লোকসঙ্গীতে অবহেলিত সম্পদও বৃহত্তর বঙ্গীয় সমাজের মধ্য দিয়ে আন্তর্জাতিক মানে যে পৌঁছাতে পারে তার প্রমাণ রেখে গিয়েছেন কালিকাপ্রসাদ। প্রয়াত শিল্পী কীভাবে বরাক উপত্যকা এবং বঙ্গীয় সমাজের মাটি থেকে লোকসংগীত সংগ্রহ করে আন্তর্জাতিক স্তরে পৌঁছে দিয়েছিলেন তার বর্ণনা তুলে ধরেন লোকসাহিত্যের আরেক গবেষক মহবুবুল বারি৷
রাজ্যের তথ্য ও জনসংযোগ বিভাগের শিলচরের আঞ্চলিক কার্যালয়ের ব্যবস্থাপনায় আয়োজিত শ্রদ্ধাঞ্জলি অনুষ্ঠানে শিলচরের অগ্রণী সামাজিক ও সাংস্কৃতিক সংস্থার কর্মকর্তারাও প্রাসঙ্গিক বক্তব্য রাখেন। বক্তাদের মধ্যে ছিলেন সম্মিলিত সাংস্কৃতিক মঞ্চের সভাপতি সুব্রত ভট্টাচার্য, বরাক উপত্যকা বঙ্গ সাহিত্য সম্মেলনের কাছাড় জেলা সম্পাদক ড. জয়ন্ত দেবরায়, রূপম সাংস্কৃতিক সংস্থার সম্পাদক নিখিল পাল, বিজেপির কাছাড় জেলা সভাপতি বিমলেন্দু রায়, চিত্রশিল্পী অরুণ কুমার পাল প্রমুখ।

কালিকাপ্রসাদের পরিবারের পক্ষে কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করেন নন্দিনী ভট্টাচার্য৷ অনুষ্ঠানে সংগীত পরিবেশন করে শিলচর সংগীত বিদ্যালয়, শব্দব্রহ্ম, বরাক উপত্যকা বঙ্গ সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতি সম্মেলন, ছন্দনীড় সাংস্কৃতিক ও সামাজিক সংস্থা, ফকিরা গানের দল। একক শিল্পীদের মধ্যে ছিলেন মঙ্গলা নাথ, তনুশ্রী দেব, অভয় অধিকারী ও শর্বাণী ভট্টাচার্য।
শুরুতে স্বাগত ভাষণে উদ্দেশ্য ব্যাখ্যা করে জনসংযোগের ভারপ্রাপ্ত ডিডিআইপিআরও সাজ্জাদুল হক চৌধুরী জানান, বিশিষ্ট এই লোকশিল্পীর জন্ম দিবসে রাজ্যের দুই উপত্যকার মধ্যে সংহতির মেলবন্ধন আরও সুদৃঢ় করতে রাজ্য সরকার ২০১৭ সাল থেকে দিনটি পালন করে আসছে। ধন্যবাদ জানান নৃত্যশিল্পী সৌমিত্রশঙ্কর চৌধুরী৷
কিন্তু এমন অনুষ্ঠানে দর্শকদের স্বল্প উপস্থিতি পীড়াদায়ক, মন্তব্য করেছেন উপস্থিত সবাই৷
Floral tributes were paid at the portrait of the eminent folk artiste by MLA, Dipayan Chakrabarty along with distinguished guests and music lovers. Addressing the gathering MLA, Chakrabarty said, “Today I take this opportunity to pay my tribute to late Kalika Prasad Bhattacharje, a versatile folk singer, researcher and song archivist all rolled into one, who was born and brought up in Silchar”. Elaborating on the activities of late Bhattacharjee, Chakrabarty said, “Music, rhythm and tune were an intrinsic part of his growing years with his musical inspiration being his uncle late Ananta Bhattacharjee. He took the tabla as naturally as he learnt to walk and was gradually propelled towards various ethnic percussions and also trained in vocal music”.
“His keen interest in music eventually led him towards the folk music of Bengal and Bangladesh, Barak Valley in Assam and North East India, and the search for traditional vibrant, melodious folk songs. In 1999, he co-founded the band called ‘Dohar’, a group of folk musicians with the intent to revive the folk music tradition of northern and eastern Bengal and unnoticed folk songs flowing from time immemorial in order to reach out to innumerable people through the albums produced by his band,” said the MLA
Kalika Prasad was the lifeline behind many television reality shows like SA RE GA MA PA and got worldwide acclamation. He died in a terrible road accident on 7 March, 2017. His death is a big loss to Bengali music , Assam government has taken the initiative to observe 11 September, his birthday, as ‘Loko Songhoti Divos’.
Other distinguished guests, Dr Amalendu Bhattacharjee, retired professor, Makbul Bari, Nikhil Paul, Subrata Bhattacharjee, District BJP president Bimalendu Roy, Nandini Chakraborty, elder sister of late Kalika Prasad Bhattacharjee, Mitali Das also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, Incharge Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, Barak Valley Zone, Silchar, Sajjadul Haque Chowdhury explained the purpose and significance of the day. As part of the programme, selected songs of Bhattacharjee were relayed over the fixed loud speakers in the morning and evening hours. Artistes from different cultural organisations of Silchar rendered popular songs of the noted artist as a mark of tribute to him.
The 51st birth anniversary of the legendary folk artiste was also observed in the Offices of District Information and Public Relations, Karimganj and Hailakandi. Minister for Environment & Forest, Fisheries and Excise, Parimal Suklabaidya also paid tribute to the popular folk artiste. The popular folk artiste was credited with infusing folk elements in new form in Bengali music. Besides popularising folk songs of rural Bengal among the present generation in the albums of his band ‘Dohar’, he had also lent his voice in films like Jaatishwar (2014), Moner Manush (2010) and Bhuban Majhi (2017).”
Suklabaidya said the popular folk singer passed away in a tragic road accident when he had so much to contribute to Bengali music.
However, the irony of the fact is that during the day,most of the seats in the Gandhi Bhawan remained vacant.
