With 9 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 41 on 19 July, 2 deaths at SMCH

Active cases 315 in Cachar; 48 discharged on Monday

July 19: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Monday at 11 PM. As per the latest data, 09 more persons were detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 41 persons were found positive in the district on 19 July. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 32 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has come down to 315. This was informed by District Media Expert on Monday night. Also, 48 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Sunday, 29 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 3,679 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 29 persons were found positive, whereas 12 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 18,585 whereas during this phase, 18,091 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 315 active patients:

46 at SM Dev Civil Hospital
09 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
06 at CRPF Doyapur
00 at Gracewell Nursing Home
04 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
00 at Valley Hospital
00 at South City Hospital
03 at Chibitabichia Model Hospital
06 at Jivan Jyoti Hospital
21 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
14 Palonghat Model Hospital
115 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 18 July to 5 PM on 19 July) witnessed the death of 02 Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Monday evening.

The deceased were identified as Rajiya Begum from Bandarghat in Karinganj district and Prabhath Bikram Das (90) from Sonai Road, Silchar.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 19 July, there were 67 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 47 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 20 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 03 patients were put under ventilator support and 51 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 07 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 15 of them were discharged.
