Rotaract Club of GC College organises food distribution programme

The Rotaract Club of Gurucharan College (GC College) has organised a food distribution programme on 9 July 2021 for the poor people in different parts of Silchar. Several things were distributed by the young boys and girls of the club. Abhijit Banik, Akash Choudhury, Janit Mallick, Srijal Banik, Priyanka Deb, Shilpa Paul spearheaded the donation programme.

In an official release, the Rotaract Club of Gurucharan College said, “Today (9th July,2021) we, Rotaract Club of G.C College conducted our first project for the tenure 20-21. We organised ” संपन्न”- A Food Distribution Event. A total of 100 plus cooked food packets consisting of rice, curry ,salad and water bottles were distributed among the poor people. We also handed over masks to people who were out ,without wearing masks. We carried out the event in Railway Station, Sadargath Bridge, Hospital Road, College Road etc maintaining all the Covid protocols and also sanitizing people’s hand before giving them food packets. We also wish to carry out such good works in future also and hope to get support for the peoples of Silchar for our works.”

Secretary of Rotaract Club of Gurucharan College Abhijit Banik said, “It is the first programme organised under my tenure and I am so happy executing it. I look forward for organising more of such projects to help ease the life of the poor, as far as our capacity permits.”
