পিস্তল সহ কুখ্যাত ড্রাগস কারবারী গ্রেফতার
Drug dealer along with arms arrested at Silchar

১১ ডিসেম্বর : কুখ্যাত এক ড্রাগস কারবারীকে মঙ্গলবার সকালে শিলচর রংপুর এলাকা থেকে গ্রেফতার করল পুলিশ। সেইসঙ্গে পুলিশ তার কাছ থেকে একটি পিস্তল, একটি বড় সাইজের ধারালো চাকু ও একটি মোবাইল উদ্ধার করেছে। গোপনসূত্রে খবর পেয়ে রংপুর পুলিশ অনুসন্ধান কেন্দ্রের ইনচার্জ মন্টু বরা সিআরপিএফ বাহিনীর সহায়তায় রাজা মিয়া লস্কর (২৪) নামের এই যুবককে গ্রেফতার করেন।

এই যুবকের বাড়ি রংপুর প্রথম খণ্ড গ্রামে। ড্রাগসের কারবার ও অন্যান্য অসামাজিক কার্যকলাপের সঙ্গে সে যুক্ত রয়েছে বলে পুলিশের কাছে আগেই খবর ছিল। সে অনুযায়ী অভিযানে নেমে পুলিশ তাকে গ্রেফতার করে। এ দিকে, রংপুর পুলিশ ফাঁড়ি থেকে তাকে নিয়ে আসা হয় শিলচর সদর থানায়। এখান থেকেই পুলিশ তাকে আদালতে পাঠায়। পরে তাকে ৬ দিনের রিমান্ডে নিয়ে আসে পুলিশ। পুলিশের ধারণা, এই যুবককে জেরা করলে আরও অনেক তথ্য পাওয়া যাবে। তবে সে কোনও জঙ্গি সংগঠনের সঙ্গে যুক্ত কি না সে ব্যপারে পুলিশ নিশ্চিত নয়। তদন্ত হলেই পুরো বিষয়টি জানা যাবে।

December 10: The recent incidents of violence, death related to drugs, dowry and intoxication at Silchar seems to have snatched its long cherished title of ‘island of peace.’ On Tuesday afternoon, CRPF along with a police force from Rangpur Police Out Post arrested a man at Rangpur area of Silchar town. A  pistol, a knife and a mobile phone were recovered from his possession by the CRPF and the police. The arrested youth was identified as Raja Laskar, who is a resident of Rangpur.

Acting on a tip-off, the CRPF and police team launched a search operation in the house of Raja Laskar and recovered these items. He was later on handed over to Silchar Sadar Police Station. At present, Raja Laskar is being interrogated and investigation is underway to unearth the details. Police is also trying to ascertain if he has links with any militant organisation.
