9 found Covid +ve in Cachar on 2 January
Active cases 59 in Cachar, 2 discharged
Jan. 1: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Sunday at 11.20 PM. As per the latest data, 09 persons were found positive in the district on 1 January. Also, 02 patients were discharged (none from hospital & 02 from home) during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 59 (42 in home isolation & 17 in hospitals).
As per the updated data, a total of 149 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 01 person was found positive, whereas 08 were detected positive out of 59 RT-PCR Tests. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 20,606 whereas during this phase, 20,328 patients were discharged.
The Covid-19 cases at SMCH has somwhat increased at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) since the last 2 days. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 01 january to 5 PM on 02 January) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at SMCH. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Sunday evening.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 2 January, there were 14 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 01 patient was put under ventilator support, and 01 in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 01 Covid positive patient was admitted at SMCH and 02 were discharged.
