85 tests Covid +ve in Karimganj on Wednesday, 46 discharged, 2 deaths registered

June 2: Karimganj registered 85 fresh COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. Of the 85 active cases detected on Wednesday, 80 have been found positive under Rapid Antigen Test, whereas 05 were tested positive under RT-PCR. The district has currently 1,202 active COVID-19 cases, while 46 patients have been discharged from hospitals and home isolation on Wednessday. 2,858 swab samples were collected during the day. It needs mention here that 69 positive cases were detected in Karimganj on Tuesday.

The last 24 hours witnessed deaths of two Covid-19 patients of Karimganj district. Out of the two deceased, one of them died at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). Promesh Paul (65) from Bazaricherra in Karmimganj district was admitted at SMCH on 31 May. He, however, passed away at 1.15 AM on 1 June. However, till the filing of this report the details about the other deceased could not be ascertained.
