81 tests Covid +ve in Hailakandi on Thursday, 71 discharged & 1 death registered

The district has altogether 546 active COVID-19 cases

May 13: Hailakandi registered 81 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday. Of the 81 positive cases detected on Thursday, 69 have been found positive under Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and 12 found positive in RT-PCR test. The district has altogether 546 active COVID-19 cases. During the day, 737 RAT tests and 48 RT-PCR tests were done. 71 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that 117 persons were found positive in Hailakandi on Wednesday.

Thursday witnessed demise of two more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. Out of the 02 deceased at SMCH on 13 May, 01 of them is from Karimganj district, while the other is from Hailakandi. The deceased from Hailakandi was identified as:

  • Rijiya Begum Barbhuiya (45) from Algapur in Hailakandi district was admitted at SMCH on 12 May. She, however, breathed her last at 6.30 AM on 13 May, 2021.

The district has 3 COVID Care Hospitals: S K Roy Civil Hospital-80 Beds, Algapur Model Hospital -60 Beds, Dholai Model Hospital -60 Beds. At present, 70 beds are occupied at Civil Hospital and Algapur 2 beds are occupied. Dholai Model hospital have not started receiving COVID positive patients yet. The time slot for booking of COVID vaccinations for 18+ is from 4 pm to 6 pm everyday depending upon the availability of vaccines. As of now, 44,727 persons in the category of 45 plus have been vaccinated, in the same category, 14,978 have received the 2nd dose. In the 18 plus category, 2,959 of them have been administered the jab.
