80 grams heroin seized in Dhalai, 3 arrested

way2barak, March 20:  In the wee hours, on the basis of reliable information, one Mahindra Scorpio (Reg No. AS-01BT-0701) coming from via NH-306 was intercepted in Dhalai area and recovered 5 nos of plastic soap cases containing suspected heroine weighing about 80 grams which was concealed beneath the mat of back seat of the vehicle. Accordingly police seized the recovered NDPS articles, 4 nos of mobile phones and above noted vehicle. Three persons were apprehended namely 1. Ramesh Chandra Biswas (34 yrs), Vill- Goroimari, PS & Dist- Barpeta 2. Sahidul Islam (26 yrs), Vill- Jugirpam, PS & Dist- Barpeta 3. Ibadur Rahman (28 yrs), Vill- Saptagram, PS-Dholai Dist-Cachar.

Numal Mahatta, SP Cachar informs that the price of the seized narcotics substance in the black market is about 50 lacs. Further investigation into the matter has been on.
