8 more Covid +ve patients die at SMCH in last 24 hours
92 patients in ICU, 27 in ventilator support & 120 put under oxygen at SMCH
May 23: Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours witnessed demise of 08 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. Out of the 08 deceased, 06 are from Cachar district, 01 each from Hailakandi and Karimganj. The deceased were identified as:
- Mintu Deb (60) from Tarapur (2md Gate), Silchar was admitted at SMCH on 20 May. He died at 7 PM on 22 May.
- Sarifa Khanan Barbhuiya (65) from Dubag in Cachar district got admitted at SMCH on 17 May. She, however, breathed her last at 12.05 AM on 22 May.
- Nirod Roy (65) from Harishnagar in Hailakandi district took admission at SMCH on 20 May. he passed away at 7.10 PM on 22 May.
- Pradip Mura (45) from Kumba in Cachar was admitted at SMCH on 22 May. He expired at 12.30 AM on 22 May.
- Priti Deb (52) from Nivea in Karimganj district got admitted at SMCH on 17 May. She breathed her last at 2.15 AM on 23 May.
- Mahendra Singh (56) from Tarapur, Silchar was admitted at SMCH on 23 May. He, however, died on the same day at 3.10 AM.
- Mangal Das (63) from Tarapur, Silchar took admission at SMCH on 18 May. He passed away at 5.10 AM on 23 May.
- Mukul Mandol (57) from Mazumder Lane, Rongpur, Silchar got admitted at SMCH on 20 May. He died at 5 PM on 23 May.
