8 Assam police personnel tests +ve, 160 put under quarantine
Ward-wise lockdown to be imposed in Guwahati!
June 22: Amid the rising number of coronavirus positive cases, the state of Assam is now facing new challenges. The state government is contemplating to impose total lockdown in several several localities of Guwahati from 6 pm on Tuesday as the number of cases over there has gone up considerably. Certain wards have been identified as hot spots in Guwahati. The ward wise lockdown will remain in place initially for 7 days, which may be extended for another 7 days depending on the situation.
Meanwhile, 8 Assam Police personnel including officers and constables have been found positive for COVID-19. Assam Director General of Police (DGP) Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta informed media persons that 160 police personnel of different ranks have been quarantined in view of COVID-19 outbreak.
