784 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Sunday, 1,449 discharged & 15 deaths registered

Aug 1: On Sunday, out of 91,123 tests, 784 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 5,66,982. The positivity rate in the state is 0.86 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 107 positive cases during the day. Further, on Sunday, 15 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 5,275. The recovery rate is 96.84 percent.

It needs mention here that on Saturday, 989 persons tested positive in Assam and 19 deaths were registered.

On Sunday, 1,449 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 5,49,065 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 96.84 percent.  At present, there are 11,295 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 15 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 15 deceased, 03 each are from Jorhat, Kamrup Rural & Nagaon; 01 each from Chirang, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Kamrup Metro & Karbi Anglong.  The death tally of the state now stands at 5,275.
