76 COVID-19 positive cases detected in Cachar till 6.30 PM on Sunday
August 9: On Sunday, till 6.30 in the evening, 76 COVID-19 positive cases were detected from across Cachar. During the day, 22 persons were found positive in RT-PCR Test (1st slot), whereas, 54 tested positive in Rapid Antigen Test (RAT). With 76 more cases on Sunday, the district tally went upto 2851. However, more slots of RTPCR and some more results of RAT are yet to come. As such, the number of positive cases are likely to go up later in the night. This was declared by Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert on Sunday evening.
22 persons tested positive on Sunday as per the results of the1st slot of RT-PCR Test. Out of them, three persons were found positive from Lane No.2, Link Road. They are asymptomatic, but were infected as they came in direct contact with high risk lab confirmed case. Two persons were detected positive via Assam Targeted Surveillance Programme (ATSP). Out of the 2, one of them is a 26 years male from Club Road and a 19 years male from Nunapani. Both are asymptomatic. Another 1 persons having Influenza Like Illness (ILI) symptoms were found positive. One of them, is a 56-year-old male from National Highway, while the other is a 42-year-old male from Joypur.
Apart from these, many persons in the 1st slot were detected positive who have a travel history. They are 45 years old male from Ghoniwala (Travelled from West Bengal), 22 years old male from Lakhipur (Travelled from Bangalore by Air), 24 years male from Sonai , Kaptanpur (Travelled from Mangalore by Air), 26 years male from Subhas Nagar (Travelled from Bangalore by Air), 24 years old male from Durganagar Pt-I (Travelled from Bangalore by Air), 28 years male from Das Colony (Travelled from Guwahati by Air), 22 years male from Thallu Tea Estate (Travelled from Bangalore by Air), 22 years old male from Hatikhal (Travelled from Kolkata by Air), 2 youths from Laharbon Part3 (Travelled from Bangalore by Air) and a 20 years old female from Kalain Bagan (Travelled from Bangalore by Air).
Another 54-year-old male from Girish Road, Tarapur was also detected positive on Sunday. Also, a 38 years old female from Paladohar and 24 years male from Rajnagar were found positive. However, their source of getting infected was not mentioned in the SRF.
Apart from these 22 persons detected positive in the 1st slot of RT-PCR Test, 54 more tested positive in Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), whose details were not available till the filing of this report.
