75 tests Covid-19 +ve in Cachar on Friday, 357 active cases in the district
3 patients are in ventilator support at SMCH
April 23: On Friday, 75 new cases of COVID-19 was reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1,733 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, a total of 40 persons were found positive, whereas 35 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Friday night. However, on Thursday night, the total positive cases in the district was 38.
With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 12,012. Further, a total of 11,617 patients were discharged in the district as of now. At present, there are 357 active cases in Cachar district, out of which, 308 are in home isolation and the rest are admitted at 4 different hospitals.
Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Friday informed that 29 patients are presently admitted in the corona ward, out of which 11 patients are admitted in the ward, 8 in ICU, 3 are in ventilator support and 5 of them are put under oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 3 Covid patients were admitted at SMCH and 2 of them were discharged. However, no deaths were reported at SMCH in the last 24 hours.
