60 health care workers administered COVID-19 vaccine in Hailakandi
Hailakandi received 214 covishield vials consisting of 2,140 doses on Friday
Jan.16: 60 health care workers were administered COVID-19 vaccine at SK Roy Civil Hospital here on Saturday. The vaccination was carried out since 9 am in a proper and organised manner with Deputy Commissioner, Megh Nidhi Dahal, District Immunisation Officer, Dr.KTS Rangmei and Joint Director, Health Services, Dr. Ashutosh Barman supervising and monitoring the entire exercise. Of the 137 doctors and health care workers of the SK Roy Civil Hospital, 60 were vaccinated on the first day itself under Phase I.
Separate rooms were set up such as waiting, vaccination and observation rooms with verifying officials cross checking the documents uploaded at the time of online registration to ensure that there was no proxy vaccination and the actual beneficiaries were inoculated. As per the strict instruction of Deputy Commissioner, Dahal, the health authorities ensured that every vial was utilised fully with no wastage.
District Immunisation Officer, Dr.Rangmei said that all the health care and frontline workers kept under observation after being showed no signs of adverse effects following immunisation (AEI). Hailakandi received 214 covishield vials consisting of 2,140 doses on Friday. 4,027 health care and frontline workers have enrolled online so far.
The administration and health authorities have planned to roll out the rest of the vaccination in some health centres across the district beginning Monday. Block Task Force Committee has been constituted in five development blocks of the district, including Urban Centre.
