588 grams heroin seized from a truck, two apprehended

way2barak, September 19 : Source information was received at the STF, Assam that narcotics would be transported from Camphai ( Mizoram) to Barpeta in Ashok Leyland Truck No AS 28 AC 1042. Accordingly, the truck was trailed from Shillong Bypass and intercepted at Amingaon. The truck was searched and 42 soap boxes/pkts of heroin weighing 588 gms without cover were found concealed in the tarauplin in the hood of the truck. Two carriers namely Mofiz Uddin and Lal Chan Badsha, both of Howly were apprehended. Necessary legal proceedings being initiated, says CPRO Police.
