5,699 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Wednesday, 6,266 discharged & 90 deaths registered
There are 52,884 active cases in the state
May 26: On Wednesday, out of 1,16,119 tests, 5,699 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 3,86,170. The positivity rate in the state is 4.91 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 670 positive cases during the day. Further, on Wednesday, 90 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 3,005.
It needs mention here that on Tuesday, 6,266 persons tested positive in Assam and 92 deaths were registered.
On Wednesday, 6,266 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 3,29,634 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 85.21 percent. At present, there are 52,884 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 90 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 90 deceased, 18 are from Kamrup Metro; 09 from Tinsukia, 08 each from Cachar, Dibrugarh & Kamrup Rural; 06 from Barpeta; 05 from Hojai; 04 from Karimganj; 03 each from Dhemaji, Golaghat & Morigaon; 02 each from Hailakandi, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Nalbari & Sonitpur; 01 each from Charaideo, Darrang, Dhubri & Jorhat. The death tally of the state now stands at 3,005.
