568 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Sunday, 1,127 discharged & 15 deaths registered

Aug 8: On Sunday, out of 58,728 tests, 568 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 5,74,100. The positivity rate in the state is 0.97 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 123 positive cases during the day. Further, on Sunday, 15 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 5,387. The recovery rate is 97.14 percent.

It needs mention here that on Saturday, 986 persons tested positive in Assam and 15 deaths were registered.

On Thursday, 1,127 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 5,57,654 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam.  At present, there are 9,712 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 15 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 15 deceased, 03 are from Kamrup Metro; 02 from Golaghat; 01 each from Baksa, Biswanath, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Goalpara, Karimganj, Morigaon, Nagaon, Nalbari & Sivasagar. The death tally of the state now stands at 5,387.
