55 +ve cases in Cachar till 7 PM on Saturday; 2 more deaths registered in the district
August 1: On Saturday, a total of 55 persons were detected as coronavirus positive. Confirming the same, District Media Expert, Suman Choudhury informed that till 7 PM on Saturday, three slots of results of RT-PCR Tests were declared. 33 persons tested positive in these 3 slots; whereas another 23 were detected as COVID-19 positive as per Rapid Antigen Test (RAT). The numbers are expected to rise towards the night.
Three more deaths were registered in the state, out of which two of them are from Cachar district. The two persons who died due to COVID-19 in Cachar are Morning Pohleng (40) and Lila Paul (70). With this, the death tally of Cachar district due to coronavirus has gone upto 04. This was confirmed in a tweet by State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma.
In the 1st slot of swab results,13 persons were detected as coronavirus positive. Dr. Bhawna Lochav (27) from Old PG Hostel, SMCH and Dr. Jyoti Kumari (29) from New PG Hostel, SMCH tested positive. Both of them being doctors came in contact with confirmed case. Their swab samples were collected on 1 August and their positive report came on that very day. Both of them are asymptomatic. Another health worker, a 55 years old female from 4th Grade Quarter of SMCH also tested positive. She too came in contact with a confirmed case.
Others who were detected as COVID-19 positive in the 1st list are from Padmanagar, Bilpar (Influenza Like Illness case who is symptomatic), Radhamadhab Road ((Influenza Like Illness case who is symptomatic), Hilara, Atal Basti (Shiv Bari Road), Dungripar, Dudhpatil (10 months old…Pre-Operative) and Athal Basti (Fever- symptomatic),
The 2nd slot of RT-PCR Test contained particulars of 15 positive cases detected from Cachar on Saturday. Another physician, Dr. Aparajita Dutta from SMCH Hostel was tested COVID-19 positive. Apart from her, 4 more health workers from SMCH also got infected by coronavirus. Apart from them are a 5 years old baby girl from Ghungoor who though asymptomatic but got infected as she came in direct contact with high risk lab confirmed case. 3 more from Ghungoor were also infected. A 32-year-old male from Shillong Patty too came in direct contact with high risk lab confirmed case and was tested positive on Saturday. A 27 years old male from RPSF Camp near Silchar Railway Station was also included in the positive list.
The 3rd slot of swab results contained particulars of 4 persons from Cachar district. Two of them are from Dholai Bazar. They are asymptomatic. They came in direct contact with high risk lab confirmed case. Another 57-year-old woman from Park Road, Silchar too tested positive. Apart from her, a 71-year-old male from Narshingpur was also included in the list of positive patients. Both of them were detected through Assam Targeted Surveillance Programme (ATSP). They are asymptomatic.
Apart from these, 23 more persons were also detected positive in Rapid Antigen Test.
