5,347 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Saturday, 3,254 discharged & 63 deaths registered
Active cases 44,008 active cases in the state
May 15: On Saturday, out of 64,701 tests, 5,347 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 3,24,979. The positivity rate in the state is 8.26 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 1,012 positive cases during the day. Further, on Saturday, 63 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 2,123.
It needs mention here that on Friday, 4,078 persons tested positive in Assam and 76 deaths were registered.
On Saturday, 3,254 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 2,77,501 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 85.39 percent. At present, there are 44,008 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 63 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 63 deceased, 21 are from Kamrup Metro; 5 each in Cachar & Dibrugarh; 3 each in Bongaigaon, Kamrup Rural & Karbi Anglong; 2 each in Barpeta, Darrang, Goalpara, Golaghat, Nalabri & Sonitpur; 1 each from Dhemaji, Dhubri, Hojai, Jorhat, Karimganj, Kokhrajhar, Lakhimpur, Morigaon, Nagaon, South Salmara & Tinsukia. The death tally of the state now stands at 2,123.
