5 found Covid +ve in Cachar on 20 October

Active cases 53 in Cachar, 4 discharged on Wednesday

Oct. 20: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Wednesday at 10.30 PM. As per the latest data, a total of 05 persons were found positive in the district on 20 October. Also, 04 patients were discharged during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 53. This was informed by District Media Expert on Wedneday night.  It needs mention here that on Tuesday, 16 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 1,526 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 02 persons were found positive, whereas 03 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 20,191 whereas during this phase, 19,922 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 53 active patients:

09 of them are admitted at SMCH
03 at MH
01 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
00 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
40 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 19 October to 5 PM on 20 October) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Wednesday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 20 October, there were 12 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, no patient was put under ventilator support, and 02 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 03 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and none of them were discharged.
