47 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Thursday
July 8: A total of 47 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Thursday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 2,307 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 39 were found positive, whereas 08 persons were detected positive in RT-PCR test. It needs mention here that 69 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Wednesday.
The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 7 July to 5 PM on 8 July) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Thursday evening.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 8 July, there were 103 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 46 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 57 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 12 patients were put under ventilator support and 68 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 09 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 08 of them were discharged.
