47 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Saturday, 25 discharged & 2 deaths at SMCH
There are 560 active cases in Cachar at present
July 3: A total of 47 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Saturday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 12,507 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 45 were found positive, whereas 02 persons were detected as positive in RT-PCR tests. Also, 25 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged during the day. It needs mention here that 93 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Friday.
Further, on Saturday, 8,732 beneficiaries in Cachar district were administered Covid-19 vaccine.
Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 2 July to 5 PM on 3 July) witnessed demise of 02 Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. Out of the two deceased, one of them is from Cachar, while the other is from Hailakandi .
The two deceased were identified as Nur Islam Laskar (08) from Sheralipur in Hailakandi district and Salehuddinraj Khan (74) from Nagatilla in Cachar district.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 3 July, there were 110 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 50 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 60 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 19 patients were put under ventilator support and 81 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 20 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 12 of them were discharged.
