4,475 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Tuesday, 2851 discharged, 41 deaths registered

May 4: On Tuesday, out of 55,003 tests, 4,475 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 2,67,925. The positivity rate in the state is 8.14 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 1,417 positive cases during the day. Further, on Tuesday, 41 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19, the highest single day death toll in Assam in 2021. With this, the death toll in the state reached 1,430.

It needs mention here that on Monday, 4,489 persons tested positive in Assam and 29 deaths were registered.

On Tuesday, 2,851 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 2,37,088 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 88.49 percent.

Further, during the day, 41 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19, the highest single day spike in the state this year. Out of the 41 deceased, 15 are from Kamrup Metro, 4 from Bongaigaon, 3 each from Jorhat and Udalguri, 2 each from Golaghat, Darrang, Kamrup Rural and Tinsukia; 1 each from Baksha, Barpeta, Dibrugarh, Goalpara, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Nalbari & Sonitpur. The death tally of the state now stands at 1,430.
