419 detected Covid +ve in Cachar till 6 PM on Monday, 3 deaths at SMCH

On Monday, 7,859 RAT & 972 RT-PCR samples were tested

May 31: A total of 419 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Monday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 7,859 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 419 were found positive, whereas the details of RT-PCR Test was awaited. A total of 972 samples were sent for Rt-PCR test during the day, the results of which will be confirmed later. This was informed by DDIPR on Monday evening.

It needs mention here that till 6 PM on Sunday, 204 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar. However, the updated data, which was furnished by the District Media Expert every night after 10 PM was not provided to the media and hence the updated figure of Sunday was not possible to be published.

Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 30 May to 5 PM on 31 May) witnessed demise of 03 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. All three deceased are from cachar district.

The deceased were identified as Taj Uddin Laskar (43) from Katigorah Part-III in Cachar district, Babul Ghosh (70) from Das Colony, Silchar and Amalendu Guha (78) from Nag Naha Lane, Silchar.
