২১ মেঃ করোনায় সংক্রমিতের সংখ্যায় আসাম দুইশোর কোঠা পেরিয়ে গেল। রাত সোয়া আটটায় স্বাস্থ্যমন্ত্রী ড. হিমন্ত বিশ্বশর্মা টুইট করেছেন, সরুসজাইয়ের কোয়রান্টাইন ক্যাম্পে থাকা আরও চারজনের শরীরে করোনা পজিটিভ ধরা পড়েছে। এ নিয়ে রাজ্যে আক্রান্তদের মোট  সংখ্যা দাঁড়িয়েছে ২০৩। শেষ চারজনের মধ্যে দুইজনের বাড়ি পশ্চিম কার্বি আংলং জেলায়। একজন দরঙ এবং অন্যজন উদালগুড়ির বাসিন্দা।

মন্ত্রী ওই টুইটে জানিয়েছেন, এই সময়ে রাজ্যে চিকিতসাধীন রয়েছেন ১৪২ জন। সুস্থ হয়ে কোভিড ওয়ার্ড থেকে বেরিয়ে গিয়েছেন ৫৪ জন। চারজন প্রাণ হারিয়েছেন। তিনজন অন্য রাজ্যে চলে গিয়েছেন। করোনা যে তার আক্রমণের গতি বাড়িয়ে দিয়েছে, তিনটি পরিসংখ্যানেই বিষয়টি স্পষ্ট ধরা পড়ে।  ৭ মে রাত ১০টা ১০ মিনিটে ৫০-র কোঠা পেরিয়ে আক্রান্তের সংখ্যা ৫৩ হয়েছিল। ১৭ মে রাত ৯টা ৪৫ মিনিটে তা ১০০-য় পৌঁছয়। আর দেড়শোর কোঠা পেরিয়ে ১৫৪ হয় ১৯ মে রাত ৭টা ৪৫ মিনিটে। ২১ মে ২০০ ছাড়াল৷

May 21: Four more persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. They were all quarantined at Sarusajai Sports Complex in Guwahati. Out of these 4 new patients, 2 belong to West Karbi Anglong; 1 each from Darrang and Udalguri.

The data that emerged with the addition of these 4 positive cases in Assam is indeed a matter of great worry for the state. Assam reached 100 on 17 May, 2020. However, on the 5th day, that is, on 21 May, the positive cases just doubled in Assam and reached the total figure of 203. At present, there are 142 active cases in Assam.
