51 persons arrested in Hailakandi for not wearing mask, 6 cases registered

২২ এপ্রিল : মাস্ক না পরে রাস্তায় বেরোনোর জন্য হাইলাকান্দির বিভিন্ন স্থান থেকে বুধবার পুলিশ মোট ৫১ জনকে আটক করেছে। এর আগে মঙ্গলবার হাইলাকান্দি থেকে ২ জনকে আটক করেছিল পুলিশ। এদের বিরুদ্ধে মামলা দায়ের করা হয়েছে। মুখে মাস্ক না লাগিয়ে রাস্তায় বেরোলে ওই ব্যক্তির বিরুদ্ধে পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হবে বলে সরকার আগেই জানিয়েছিল। সে অনুযায়ী পুলিশ পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করে।

হাইলাকান্দি পুলিশসূত্রে জানা গেছে, শহর এলাকা ছাড়াও কাটলিছড়া, লালা, আলগাপুর ইত্যাদি এলাকা থেকে এদের আটক করা হয়েছে। পুলিশ জানায়, কাটলিছড়া থেকে ৬, লালা থেকে ৫, হাইলাকান্দি শহর এলাকা থেকে ২১, আলগাপুর থেকে ৮ ও পাঁচগ্রাম থেকে ১১ জনকে আটক করা হয়েছে। হাইলাকান্দির পুলিশ সুপার জানিয়েছেন, মুখে মাস্ক না লাগিয়ে যারাই রাস্তায় বেরোবেন, তাদের গ্রেফতার করা হবে। আগামী কয়েকদিন এই অভিযান চলবে বলেও তিনি জানান।

April 22: The district police has strictly enforced the wearing of mask and face cover in view of COVID-19 pandemic. Superintendent of Police, Pabindra Kumar Nath revealed that 51 persons have been arrested for not wearing mask and face cover with registration of six cases in different police stations across the district. Of the 51 arrested for violation on Wednesday, 21 arrests have been made under Hailakandi Police Station, five under Lala PS, eight under Algapur PS, 11 under Panchgram PS and six arrests under Katlicherra PS. Two cases have been registered in the Panchgram PS while one each in the other police stations.

The district administration, in an order, issued on Monday made wearing of mask and face cover mandatory and warned of stern action against those violating it. 23 vehicles have been seized for lockdown violation during the past 24 hours. Altogether 119 vehicles have been seized since the lockdown with Rs 89,800 realised by way of fine.
