4 more Covid +ve patients dies at SMCH in last 24 hours

May 21: Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. Thursday witnessed demise of 04 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. Out of the 04 deceased, 03 are from Cachar district, while 01 of them is from Hailakandi. The deceased were identified as:

• Nanda Kishore Singha (71) from Sudarshanpur in Hailakandi was admitted at SMCH on 19 May. He died at 5 PM on 20 May.
• Imrana Begum (38) from Tejitikar in Cachar district got admitted at SMCH on 20 May. She, however, passed away the same day at 5.10 PM.
• Putul Chandra Das (78) from Uttar Krishnapur in Silchar was admitted at SMCH in the morning on 20 May. But he breathed his last the same evening at 5.56 PM.
• Ajoy Majhi (48) from Malugram, Silchar took admission at SMCH  on 18 May. He died at 10.20 PM on 20 May.
