4 found Covid +ve in Cachar on 8 December
Active cases 39 in Cachar, 2 discharged
Dec. 8: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Wednesday at 10.00 PM. As per the latest data, 04 persons were found positive in the district on 8 December. Also, 02 patients were discharged during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 39. It needs mention here that on Tuesday, 14 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.
As per the updated data, a total of 1,254 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, no persons were found positive, whereas 04 were detected positive out of 271 RT-PCR Tests. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 20,459 whereas during this phase, 20,204 patients were discharged.
The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 7 December to 5 PM on 8 December) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Wednesday evening.
On Wednesday, a few doctors of SMCH tested positive for Covid-19. However, till 5 PM on Wednesday, no more doctors of SMCH were found positive.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 8 December, there were 10 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 01 patient was put under ventilator support, and 02 were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 03 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 02 of them were discharged.
