3,948 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Tuesday, 3,419 discharged & 43 deaths registered

There are 49,158 active cases in the state

June 8: On Tuesday, out of 1,33,212 tests, 3,948 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 4,42,694. The positivity rate in the state is 2.96 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 341 positive cases during the day. Further, on Tuesday, 43 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 3,738. The recovery rate is 87.75 percent.

It needs mention here that on Monday, 3,804 persons tested positive in Assam and 37 deaths were registered.

On Tuesday, 3,419 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 3,88,451 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 87.75 percent. At present, there are 49,158 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 43 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 43 deceased, 07 are from Kamrup metro; 06 each from Cachar & Dibrugarh; 03 each from Nagaon & Sonitpur; 02 each from Karimganj, Sivasagar, Tinsukia & South Salmara; 01 each from Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Darrang, Dhubri, Goalpara, Hojai, Kamrup Rural, Karbi Anglong, Lakhimpur & Nalbari. The death tally of the state now stands at 3,738.
