388 detected Covid +ve in Cachar till 6 PM on Wednesday, 372 discharged & 10 deaths at SMCH
May 26: A total of 388 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Wednesday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 7,180 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 379 were found positive, whereas 09 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert on Wednesday evening. Also, 372 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Tuesday, 602 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.
Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours witnessed demise of 10 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. Out of the 10 deceased, 07 are from Cachar district, 01 from Karimganj & 02 from Hailakandi.
The deceased were identified as Rekha Acharjee (66) from Ghungoor, Cachar, Johura Begum Barbhuiyan (60) from Baskal in Dholai, Cachar, Prottush Nath (53) from Jaroiltola in Borkhala, Cachar, Sandhya Rani Das (74) from Bazaricherra in Karimganj district, Abdul Rouf Choudhury (67) from Algapur in Hailakandi, Rubi Barman from PHE Campus quarter at Silchar Medical, Ayesha Begum Laskar (60) from Dakhhin Mohanpur in Hailakandi district, Nikunja Singha (58) from Dudhpur in Cachar, Milon Rani Das (60) from Rajpur in Katigorah, Cachar and N. Bimal Singh (52) from Binnakandi (Kaptanpur) in Cachar.
