36-year-old woman from Assam dies due to COVID-19 in Delhi

June 18: In a tragic incident, a 36-year-old woman who hails from Narayanpur in Lakhimpur district of Assam died due to COVID-19 on 17 June at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. The woman identified as Sonia Deori was working in a marketing company in Delhi since 2008. As per reports, the swab sample of sonia came out to be positive on Tuesday. She was then admitted at AIIMS, New Delhi, where she succumbed to the deadly virus on Wednesday.

The deceased was was cremated in New Delhi by an NGO. Later on, a token cremation was performed by her family members and fellow villagers at Narayanpur in Lakhimpur district on Thursday.
