3,453 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Saturday, 23 deaths registered
Active cases 25,027 in Assam
May 1: On Saturday, out of 54,002 tests, 3,453 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 2,56,576. The positivity rate in the state is 6.39 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 1,417 positive cases during the day. Further, on Saturday again, 23 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 1,330. At present, there are 25,027 active cases in Assam.
It needs mention here that on Friday, 3,197 persons tested positive in Assam and 26 deaths were registered.
On Saturday, 2,229 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 2,28,872 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 89.20%.

Further, during the day, 23 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 23 deceased, 09 are from Kamrup Metro, 3 from Barpeta, 2 each from Cachar and Tinsukia; 01 each from Bongaigaon, Dibrugarh, Goalpara, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Sivasagar and Sonitpur. The death tally of the state now stands at 1,330.
