32 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Tuesday, 1 death at SMCH
July 20: A total of 32 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Tuesday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 6,758 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 31 were found positive, whereas 01 person was detected positive in RT-PCR test. It needs mention here that 41 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Monday.
The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 19 July to 5 PM on 20 July) witnessed the death of 01 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). The detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Tuesday evening. The deceased, a 3-year-old child was identified as:
- Habibur Rahman (03 years) from Borbondh Part-II in Hailakandi district was admitted at SMCH on 19 July. The kid, however, passed away at 9 AM on 20 July.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 20 July, there were 72 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 43 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 29 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 05 patients were put under ventilator support and 55 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 07 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 01 of them were discharged.
