3,132 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Tuesday, 18 deaths registered
April 27: On Tuesday, out of 62,628 tests, 3,132 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 2,43,802. The positivity rate in the state is 5 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 1,313 positive cases during the day. Further, 18 more persons lost their lives in the state on Tuesday due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 1,233. This is the highest single-day deaths recorded in Assam in 2021.
It needs mention here that on Monday, 3,137 persons tested positive in Assam and 15 deaths were registered.
On Tuesday, 955 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 2,21,299 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 90.77%.

Further, during the day, 18 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19, the highest single day figures in the state this year. Out of the 18 deceased, 05 are from Kamrup Metro, 2 each from Cachar, Goalpara & Nalbari and 1 each from Karimganj, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Hojai, Jorhat, Kamrup Rural & Sibsagar. The death tally of the state now stands at 1,233.
