3,045 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Wednesday, 22 deaths registered
April 28: On Wednesday, out of 55,480 tests, 3,045 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 2,46,847. The positivity rate in the state is 5.49 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 1,206 positive cases during the day. Further, 22 more persons lost their lives in the state on Wednesday due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 1,255. This is the highest single-day deaths recorded in Assam in 2021.
It needs mention here that on Tuesday, 3,132 persons tested positive in Assam and 18 deaths were registered.
On Wednesday, 1,098 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 2,22,397 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 90.10%.

Further, during the day, 22 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19, the highest single day figures in the state this year. Out of the 22 deceased, 06 are from Kamrup Metro, 03 each from Kamrup Rural & Barpeta; 2 each from Jorhat & Sonitpur, 1 each from Cachar, Charaideo, Karbi Anglong, Karimganj, Lakhimpur and Tinsukia. The death tally of the state now stands at 1,255.
