3 tests Covid positive in Cachar on Monday, 24 discharged & 1 death at SMCH
There are 78 active cases in Cachar
Feb. 7: The number of coronavirus cases in Cachar district is gradually decreasing. The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Monday at 4.15 PM. As per the latest data, a total of 03 persons were found positive in the district on 7 February. Also, 24 patients were discharged (22 from home & 02 from hospital) during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has gone down to 78, out of which, 60 are in home isolation whereas 18 are admitted in various hospitals of the district. On Sunday, 03 persons were found positive in Cachar. The death toll in Cachar due to Covid has reached 34 this year.
As per the updated data, a total of 344 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 02 persons were found positive, whereas 01 was detected positive out of 103 RT-PCR Tests. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 Jan 2022 reached 6,366 whereas during this phase, 6,254 patients were discharged. There has been a gradual decline in the number of daily positive cases in Cachar district. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 6 February to 5 PM on 7 February) witnessed the death of 01 more Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Monday evening.
The deceased was identified as:
- Braja Bihari Singha (81) tested Covid positive and was admitted at SMCH on at 12.49 AM The patient, however, breathed his last at 1.30 AM on 7 February 2022. The patient was suffering from hyponatremia, Type II Diabetes and COPD.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 7 February, there were 04 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 01 patient was put under ventilator support, and 02 in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, no Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and also none were discharged. A total of 01 patient was detected positive in RAT at SMCH and none in RTPCR on Monday.
