জিরিঘাটে এলটিটি জঙ্গি ধৃত
LTT militant arrested at Jirighat

৪ নভেম্বরঃ পুলিশকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে কাছাড় জেলার জিরিঘাট থেকে এক জঙ্গিকে গ্রেফতার করল আসাম রাইফেলস। গোয়েন্দা সূত্রে খবর পেয়ে অসম-মণিপুর সীমান্তে অভিযান চালায় তারা। দুটি বিদেশি পিস্তল ও গুলিবারুদ সহ ধরা পড়ে পাওমিনলুং খংসাই।

জেরায় পাওমিনলুং স্বীকার করে, সে মণিপুরের লিবারেশন টাইগার অব ট্রাইবাল (এলটিটি) জঙ্গিগোষ্ঠীর ক্যাডার। মণিপুরের তামেংলঙে বাড়ি হলেও জিরিবাম অঞ্চলই তার বর্তমান  কর্মক্ষেত্র। গত ৫ সেপ্টেম্বর কোস্টাল কনস্ট্রাকশন প্রাইভেট লিমিটেডের দুই অফিসার অপহরণে সেও জড়িত ছিল।

November 4: Assam Rifles along with police forces arrested a militant from Jirighat area of Cachar district in Assam. On being tipped off by the informers, the raid was conducted in Assam-Manipur border area. Paominlung Khangsai was nabbed along with 2 imported pistols and other ammunition, which were recovered from his custody.

During investigation, Paominlung confessed that he is a cadre of the terrorist group, Liberation Tiger of Tribals, which is based in Manipur. Though a resident of Tamenglang area of Manipur, but he works in Jiribam. The arrested militant was also a part of the group which kidnapped 2 officers of Coastal Construction Provate Limited on 5 September.
