3 found Covid-19 positive in Cachar on Tuesday

Active cases 67 in Cachar

Sept 20: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Tuesday at 11.20 PM. As per the latest data, 03 persons were detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has gone down to 67. This was informed by District Media Expert on Tuesday night. Also, 20 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Monday, 05 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 1,831 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 01 person was found positive, whereas 02 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 20,006 whereas during this phase, 19,740 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 81 active patients:

15 of them are admitted at SMCH
08 at MH
00 at SM Dev Civil Hospital
07 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
01 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
04 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
32 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 20 September to 5 PM on 21 September) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Tuesday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 21 September, there were 14 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, no patients were put under ventilator support and 03 in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 07 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 07 of them were discharged.

Further, 1 more Covid-19 positive patient from Karimganj died in the last 24 hours. The deceased was identified as:

  • Nazrul Islam (40) from Jumbasti at Badarpur in  Karimganj was admitted at SMCH on 19 September.  He died at 7:30 PM on 20 September.
