2,709 found Covid +ve in Assam, 1,223 discharged & 5 deaths registered on Sunday

Jan. 16: On Sunday, out of 30,146 tests, 2,709 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 6,46,735. The positivity rate in the state is 8.99 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 912 positive cases during the day. Further, on Sunday, 05 died in the state due to COVID-19. The deceased are from Jorhat (2), Kamrup Metro (1), Morigaon (1) and Nalbari (1). The death toll in the state stands at 6,206. The recovery rate is 95.85 percent. Also, 1,223 patients were discharged during the day. At present, there are 19,258 active cases in the state.

It needs mention here that on Saturday, 3,390 persons tested positive in Assam and 04 deaths were registered.
