26 new +ve in Assam, biggest one-time spike so far, total rises to 256
Active cases 195 in Assam
22 May: 26 new coronavirus positive cases were reported from Assam on Friday night. This is perhaps the biggest one-time spike in COVID-19 positive cases not only in Assam but in the entire Northeast. All of them were quarantined at Sarusajao Sports Complex in Guwahati. These are all passengers who have entered Assam from various parts of the country and were put under 14 days compulsory institutional quarantine. With this biggest one-time spike, the total number of cases in Assam has gone upto 256. However, the number of active cases in the state stands at 195.
