2579 tests +ve in Assam on Tuesday, tally rises to 1,30,823

Sept. 8: On Tuesday, 2579 cases of COVID-19 were detected in Assam. With this, a total of 1,30,823 positive cases were registered in Assam. At present, the number of active cases is 31,369 in the state. In a tweet, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Alert ~ 2579 #COVID cases detected today out of 34462 tests done in last 24 hours Positivity Rate- 7.48% Kamrup M- 729; Dibrugarh- 160; Jorhat-146; Dhemaji- 110.”

Further, 8 more deaths were registered during the day, thereby taking the death toll of the state to 378.
