244 detected Covid +ve in Cachar till 6 PM on Monday, 3 deaths at SMCH

Active cases 2,298 in Cachar; 290 discharged on Monday

June 14:  A total of 244 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Monday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 7,773 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 229 were found positive, whereas 15 others tested positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by DIPRO Cachar on Monday evening. Also during the day, 290 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged during the day. At present, there are 2,298 active Covid-19 cases in Cachar district. It needs mention here that 150 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Sunday.

Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 13 June to 5 PM on 14 June) witnessed demise of 03 Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. Out of the three deceased on Monday, 02 are from Cachar district and 01 from Hailakandi.

The deceased were identified as Bhiru Nath (65) from Chenkuri Kanchanpur in Cachar, BimalKumar Das (75) from Rangirkhari, Silchar and Joy Narayan Satnami (61) from Manipurbazar in Hailakandi district.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 14 June, there were 181 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 91 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 90 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 21 patients were put under ventilator support and 124 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 21 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 16 of them were discharged. Further, 21 of them have opted for home isolation.
