24 tests +ve in Cachar on Monday, another death at SMCH
Active cases 138 in Cachar
Dec. 7: On Monday, a total of 24 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 2103 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 20 persons were found positive, whereas 04 were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. Further, 30 patients were discharged in the district after getting cured. At present, a total of 72 Covid-19 positive patients are hospitalised in Cachar. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar and Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert, Cachar on Monday night.
With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 11,015. Further, a total of 10,840 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 37 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 138 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 23 persons were found positive in Cachar on Sunday.
In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Monday informed that 01 more patient have died due to COVID-19 at SMCH. The deceased was identified as Mina Rani Devi who died at 5 AM on Monday. However, the state Death Audit Board certified it as non-Covid death.
