2284 tests +ve in Assam on Wednesday including 93 in Cachar, tally crosses 50,000-mark
Active cases 15,900 in Assam
August 5:On Wednesday, 2284 persons tested COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus cases has crossed the 50,000-mark and reached 50,445, out of which, 15,900 are active cases. Cachar district registered 93 positive cases on Wednesday with 1 more death. The state as a whole recorded 6 new deaths, thereby taking the death tally to 121.
In a tweet, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Alert ~ 2284 COVID cases detected out of 59162 tests in last 24 hrs. Glad that our positivity rate is just 3.86%! Kamrup (M)- 362, Dibrugarh- 177, Nagaon- 157, Kamrup (R)- 123.”
