2,236 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Saturday, 14 deaths registered
April 24: On Saturday, out of 69,094 tests, 2,236 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 2,35,689. The positivity rate in the state is 3.24 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 815 positive cases during the day. During the day, 14 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 1186. This is the highest single-day deaths recorded in Assam in 2021.
It needs mention here that on Friday, 2,384 persons tested positive in Assam and 12 deaths were registered.
On Saturday, 619 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 2,18,958 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 92.90%.

Further, during the day, 14 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19, the highest single day figures in the state this year. Out of the 14 deceased, 03 are from Kamrup Metro, 2 each from Dibrugarh, Hojai, Jorhat & Kamrup Rural; 1 each from Barpeta, Sonitpur & Tinsukia. The death tally of the state now stands at 1,186.
