221 Covid deaths in Assam in last 3 days including 73 on Tuesday

May 18: With a tragic turn of events, more and more people are losing their lives in Assam due to Covid-19. In the last three days, 221 persons in the state have lost their lives due to the deadly coronavirus. On 16 May, 56 people succumbed to Covid-19, 17 May recorded 92 more deaths and on 18 May, 73 persons lost their lives in the virus attack.

Out of the 73 deceased on Tuesday, 26 are from Kamrup Metro; 16 are from Kamrup Metro; 07 from Kamrup Rural; 6 each from Cachar & Dibrugarh; 5 each from Hojai & Sonitpur; 4 from Barpeta; 3 each from Darrang & Nagaon; 2 each from Baksha, Bongaigaon, Golaghat, Hailakandi, Lakhimpur & Udalguri; 1 each from Biswanath, Goalpara, Jorhat, Karbi Anglong, Morigaon & Tinsukia. The death tally of the state now stands at 2,344.

Apart from the 2,179 Covid deaths, another 1,347 Covid positive patients also died in Assam, but due to comorbidities.
