Women’s College celebrates a number of events to mark National Voter’s Day

Jan. 27: Women’s College, Silchar organized a number of events to observe the 11th National Voters’ Day on January 25. In her address, Dr Sutapa Sikidar said that the 11th National Voters’ Day holds great significance for students and youth. She sensitised the students about the right and importance of voting. An extempore speech and quiz competition were also held among the students in this connection. About 30 students took part in the events. Later on, prizes were given to the best performers.

No description available.Dr. Sanghamitra Debnath, an officer of the NSS unit of the college and the Head of Department of Philosophy, urged the students to take a pledge on National Voters’ Day to abide by the guidelines of Election Commission of India and encourage others in the democratic process of exercising their franchise without any fear or favour. Eventually the celebration ended with the National anthem.
